Hattiesburg Unit
Membership in the SMMA enables one to associate with one of the most constructively involved health organizations in the community. It allows members to know and work with other physicians' spouses as well as have a voice in local, state, and national affairs of the SMMA, MSMA Alliance, and AMA Alliance. Members will receive the SMMA DISPATCH, the local alliance newsletter, ALLIANCE CONNECTION, the state alliance newsletter, and AMA Alliance Today, the AMA magazine for and about physicians' spouses.
The SMMA helps provide financial assistance to medical students, interns, and residents as well as support important scientific and medical research. Membership declares to the public that the doctor's spouse is proud to be associated with his/her medical professional group and approves of its goals. It is both a privilege and a responsibility to be a member.
